Six Hundred Million Pounds For A Gherkin
Worth the money they just paid for it? Insurance giant Swiss Re has sold the iconic skyscraper in the heart of the City of London, which locals dubbed "the Gherkin". German property firm IVG Immobilien and UK investment firm Evans Randall bought the building for £600m ($1.2bn).
These however are much cheaper and tastier, and available in your local chippie.

Hmm...Clearly the soon-to-be previous owners made out like fat cats on the sale of that gigantic phallic symbol.
I'm in! Fabulous. I quite like the 'Gherkin', but prefer the real, jarred pickled types - mmm, reminds me of Russia.
It'd take more than that to get me to give up my gherkin.

Ha ha! The French word for gherkin (cornichon) is also used to mean a penis.
